For the past 65 years The Oakville Sewing Centre has operated in Oakville, serving the sewing needs of avid sewists in the GTHA. At that time, it was mainly a sewing machine dealership and repair depot for all makes and models of domestic sewing machines. 30 years ago, The Oakville Sewing Centre was purchased by Linda Peel Devitt, and the product line was expanded to include Bernina, Janome and Elna machines as well as fabrics, sewing notions and workshops.

As the popularity in quilting expanded, a new name was added to the business to better reflect the tone and flavour of the business.

The Quilt Builder was born.

With over 4000 bolts of quilting cottons from prominent supplies and designers, The Quilt Builder has grown into the largest quilt store in the Western GTHA.

With a "gallery" of quilts and other projects displayed throughout the store, you will find inspiration in every corner.

The store is now closed.
